Playroom
We aim to provide a safe and secure environment in which
your children can enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences.
All the activities we offer are geared to the age and ability
of children attending the playroom and are changed daily,
usually following a theme.
Our playroom staff encourage children to participate in social
activities such as snack, role play and games. They also provide
children with the resources to experiment and create their
own “works of art”, encourage imaginative play
and enjoy new experiences. All works of art may be taken home.
Parents are encouraged to come and visit the playroom before
leaving their child for a supervised session, to familiarise
them with the surroundings and the staff.
Children can be supervised for a maximum of 4 hours per day
allowing you time to relax.
Our Playroom caters primarily for children aged 1 –
6yrs, however during quiet periods within the hotel we cater
for children of all ages over 1 year and tailor activities
to suit the children attending each session.

Opening times
Daily
2.00pm – 4.30pm - Activities suitable for children aged 1 + years.
6.15pm – 7.45pm - Activities suitable for children aged 1-6 years.
8.00pm - 9.30pm - Activities suitable for children aged 7-12 years.
Children can be booked in for no more than 4 hours per child per day and only 1 evening session can be booked. At quiet times of the year it may be necessary to restrict the hours we operate the playroom. Please contact the hotel in advance to check availability and secure your booking.

1-4 years £3.50 per hour
5 years + £3.00 per hour
Evening Sessions
£5.00 per session
The prices vary because of the legal ratios that are followed within the playroom
All bookings will be charged for the first hour in full, thereafter bookings will be charged per half hour. All evening sessions will be charged in full. Please read the terms and conditions for our Cancellation Policy.

Playroom staff
All our playroom staff and entertainment hosts are qualified
to work with children or are currently working towards a qualification.
We pride ourselves in only employing staff with a genuine
interest in the welfare of children and who are positive role
models. All our staff go through rigorous reference and enhanced
Disclosure Scotland checks prior to starting with us and are
reviewed regularly. Our staff follow the national guidelines
laid down by the Care Commission Scotland.
Bookings
Bookings for the Playroom should be made 24
hours in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

Board Games Library
We have a varied selection of board games available to entertain
young and old alike, from family favourites with a modern
twist such as Simpson’s Cluedo, to games of skill and
knowledge like chess or Trivial pursuit. Our games can be
borrowed during your stay free of charge; however a deposit
of £10 will be required which is refundable upon its
safe return.

Giant Games
Most weekends and school holidays we have a selection of
giant games available for our guests to use. These include
a host of family favourites such as snakes & ladders,
ludo and Connect 4 but super sized. Alongside these giant
games we offer a selection of pop-up toys suitable for little
ones to play with while their older siblings play with the
big games.
Baby sitting
Child-sitting is supplied by Safehands Network Ltd, one of
the UK’s largest childcare providers. All their carers
are over 21 years of age, experienced and cleared by the Criminal
Record Bureau. The arrangement of child-care is solely between
yourself and Safehands. The hotel cannot accept any responsibility
for any issues that may arise concerning this service. If
you wish to arrange this service 48 hours prior notice is required
and is subject to availability. Terms and conditions apply.

Children’s Dining
Our Children’s High Teas
offer youngsters a mouth-watering selection of their favourite
foods and are served daily from 5pm-6pm.
Children are welcome to dine in the Restaurant after 6.00pm
where they will be offered a half portion from the table d’hote
menu. A £10.00 supplement per child per night is applicable.
Please let us know in advance of any special dietary requirements
your child may have to allow us to accommodate your needs.
