Dunblane Hydro Hotel, Scotland

horse riding

Pony trekking and horse riding centres can be found throughout the nearby Trossachs & Breadalbane, catering for riders at all levels.

The terrain in this part of Scotland offers everything from the easiest of gentle rides for the complete novice to the more demanding treks over some of the moors and mountain slopes.

The landscapes through which riders can trek varies considerably throughout the area. The quiet country lanes and rolling hills in the lower lying areas of Stirling, Strathallan, Falkirk and

Clackmannanshire are good for less experienced riders, as are the shady trails through the Car ron Valley Reservoir. The hilly treks in the Ochils and Campsie Fells, with the superb vistas of the surrounding countryside, are for the more experienced.

The excellent Rednock Farm Trekking Centre is between Thornhill and Port of Menteith on the road from Stirling to Aberfoyle and is also only 10 minutes by car from the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Gateway town of Callander and 30 minutes from Stirling. Their outstanding ponies and horses are experienced in all terrains and all categories of riders. They are good natured and adaptable and will happily cope with all abilities from the total novice to the very experienced rider.
